£799This twin-lens prime kit offers photographers a portable, ultra-fast aperture and high-performance lens set-up that can be used for a wide range of photographic applications. Both lenses have an F1.4 aperture, which is significantly faster than a standard kit lens, allowing greater background blur and better low-light performance.
The lenses are both designed for APS-C cameras, but can be used on a full-frame body in crop mode. The 23mm has a full-frame equivalent focal length of 35mm, which is arguably the most versatile focal length for general shooting, and the 56mm is around 85mm, which is ideal for portraits. This makes it an extremely useful combination that can handle almost any shooting situation, from weddings and events right through to street and architecture. Despite their size the lenses deliver staggering optical performance with extremely sharp results at all apertures, and the quality of the bokeh is excellent – a must on ultra-wide aperture optics.Â
Included with the kit is a SIGMA Protector filter for each lens, which will help keep the front elements safe from damage, whatever type of photography you’re doing. The filters are made by SIGMA in Japan from the very highest quality glass, ensuring that the quality of the image remains extremely high. The outer elements incorporate SIGMA’s Super Multi-Layer Coating that effectively reduces flare and ghosting, and the black-rimmed glass further increases performance by eliminating unnecessary internal reflections.
So whatever you shoot, this portable twin-lens prime kit, available for L-Mount, Sony E-mount and FUJIFILM X Mount cameras, has you covered.
Please note that the kit box illustration above is for illustrative purposes only. The components will be shipping in their original lens boxes.
Collectively weighing just 625g, the 23mm F1.4 and 56mm F1.4 make an exceptionally portable twin lens prime kit that can be carried around all day without weighing you down. The outer barrel of both lenses is made from a strong and light polymer called TSC, which has a similar thermal expansion rate to the interior aluminium parts, ensuring a very consistent performance in all conditions. The lenses are beautifully built with a premium finish, and both have ultra-light but extremely strong lens hoods to control flare and ghosting, and protect the lens if dropped. Both lenses have dust- and splash-resistant seals around the mount, and water- and oil-repellant coatings on the front element to keep the glass clear of contaminants.Â

Designed for crop sensor mirrorless cameras, the 23mm has an equivalent focal length of 35mm, making it a versatile wide-standard prime that is well suited to street photography, travel, landscapes, wider-angle portraits and weddings. Its F1.4 aperture ensures fast shutter speeds for working hand-held in low-light conditions, and also provides a very shallow depth-of-field for blurry backgrounds.
Despite its very fast aperture the lens weighs only 340g, so it’s easily light enough to carry around all day, and the build is sleek yet robust. Optical performance is exceptional, with very sharp results across the whole frame at all aperture settings. The lens pairs perfectly with the other DC DN primes, which also have F1.4 apertures.
This short telephoto crop-sensor prime delivers superb image quality and an ultra-wide F1.4 aperture in a very portable body. Weighing less than 300g, it’s ideal for photographers who need both performance and portability from their kit. When used on an APS-C sensor camera, the lens offers an equivalent focal length of around 85mm, and when used on Micro Four Thirds, it’s around 112mm. This makes it ideal for portraits, weddings, travel, street and pet photography, and thanks to its fast AF is also perfect for video.
The wide F1.4 aperture delivers a shallow depth-of-field for blurry backgrounds, which is particularly useful when photographing portraits as it helps the subject to stand out against the background. The fast aperture also makes it easier to achieve blur-free shots when working hand-held in low light. The 56mm F1.4 is part of a series of portable crop-sensor primes with an F1.4 maximum aperture, ideal for photographers who prefer to work with a set of lenses from the same range.
This two-lens kit includes a 52mm and a 55mm Protector filter for each lens to ensure they are fully protected from damage out in the field. SIGMA’s Super Multi-Layer coating effectively minimises flare and ghosting so that images remain punchy and colour-rich even in bright direct sun.
The filter has been designed for everyday use and is completely colourless, so it does not affect colour reproduction.
All Sigma cameras and lenses are designed, manufactured and assembled at our sole factory at Aizu in Japan. This domestic production model is unusual in today’s industry, with most imaging companies opting to outsource to other countries to reduce costs. But SIGMA believes that keeping virtually all manufacturing, processing and assembly in Aizu is essential for creating innovative, carefully thought-out and impeccably constructed products that meet the high standards demanded by professional photographers and film-makers around the world.
Sigma chose Aizu as its main production base in the early 1970s. Situated at the base of Mount Bandai in the Fukushima Prefecture, about four hours’ drive north of Tokyo, Aizu has an abundance of very clean water from mountain streams, which is essential for grinding and polishing lenses. Sigma’s founder, Michihiro Yamaki, was also drawn to this area for its workforce, who have a reputation for their craftsmanship, work ethic and attention to detail. Mr Yamaki’s son, Kazuto Yamaki, now the owner and CEO of SIGMA Corporation, has the same unwavering commitment to keeping production in Japan.
Today Sigma’s factory is more than 50,000 square feet in size, and packed full of some of the most advanced optical manufacturing technology in existence. So when you buy a Sigma camera or lens you can be sure that virtually every single component part has been manufactured and assembled by SIGMA, in Japan, with the greatest level of care and attention. We hope you enjoy using our products.
