Unlimited ultra-wide creativity
The ultimate wide-angle lens for astrophotography
Utilising sophisticated optical design technology, with 17 glass elements arranged in 15 groups, including two SLD, three aspherical glass elements and the largest class double-sided aspherical glass element in SIGMA’s history, the 20mm F1.4 DG DN | Art rigorously suppresses various optical aberrations such as sagittal coma flare and image distortion to produce highly-detailed images with exceptional sharpness and accuracy from the centre to the furthest corners of the lens. With its brilliant optical power and its full range of useful features despite its compact and lightweight body, the SIGMA 20mm F1.4 DG DN | Art is the ultimate choice when photographing the night sky.
Designed for the most demanding conditions
The dust and splash resistant* structure combined with a water and oil-repellent coating on the front glass element make the SIGMA 20mm F1.4 DG DN | Art safe to use during longer outdoor shoots, especially during the night.
Features such as a focus mode switch, a customisable AFL* button, and an aperture ring lock switch enhance the lens usability.
* Although this construction allows the lens to be used in light rain, it is not the same as being waterproof.
*Only on compatible cameras. Available functions may vary depending on the camera used.

Lens Heater Retainer
Keep the lens free from night dew by utilising the built in Lens Heater Retainer. The extended lip at the front of the lens stops an attached lens heater* from slipping over the front element, preventing lens vignetting.
*Sold separately

Beautiful bokeh
The wide F1.4 aperture allows for fast shutter speeds and to freeze a subject in frame, while creating beautiful shallow depth-of-filed effects. Take precise control with the clickable aperture ring. An aperture ring click switch is provided to turn off this function for a smooth aperture control system designed for videographers.

Compatible with front and rear filters
Outstanding design and high-precision manufacturing capabilities made it possible to equip a front filter thread despite the very large F1.4 aperture and 20mm ultra-wide viewing angle. The lens also comes with a rear filter holder, allowing the freedom to combine multiple filters to suit a huge variety of shooting situations.

Manual focus lock switch
Turn on the MFL (Manual Focus Lock) to disengage the manual focus ring. Set the lens to the desired position, turn on the lock and concentrate on your shot without worrying about accidentally changing the focusing distance. Ideal for long exposure photography and video.
Upgraded lens hood
The included petal-shaped lens hood is equipped with a lock mechanism to keep the hood securely fastened to the lens, A rubberised grip area makes it easy to attach and remove the hood in one quick and easy process.

Essentials
You'll find our philosophy and craftsmanship in every product
Our new lineup fully expresses our approach to lenses and photography itself. All of our lenses belong to one of three lines—Contemporary, Art, or Sports—all of which share our development philosophy and advanced manufacturing system. High performance, high quality, and high end in every respect, these lenses give people who love photography lasting value and consistent, exciting results. The secret is our passion for craftsmanship that we put into every production process and every product.
Evaluation with Sigma's own MTF measuring system “A1”
We used to measure lens performance with MTF measuring system using conventional sensors. However, we’ve now developed our own proprietary MTF (modulation transfer function) measuring system (A1) using 46-megapixel Foveon direct image sensors. Even previously undetectable high-frequency details are now within the scope of our quality control inspections.
