SIGMA Cambridge Photo Walk - 27 August 2024

SIGMA UK will be leading a free photo walk around the major sights of the historic city centre of Cambridge. This is an opportunity to meet a group of like-minded photographers while having a gentle photography walk, capturing the sights of the city.

Join SIGMA UK for a photo walk through the iconic sights of Cambridge city centre! This is a wonderful chance to connect with like-minded photographers while enjoying a leisurely stroll around the historic Cambridge City centre.

Intended as a relaxed opportunity to enjoy photography in the company of others, this walk will last about three hours, with plenty of pauses and stops to take photos. While there won’t be formal instruction, a SIGMA representative will be on hand to offer assistance. It’s all about having a laid-back experience enjoying your favourite hobby.

Starting at Kings Parade, you’ll pass by Great St Mary’s Church, The Senate House, the market place, the Backs, Mathematical Bridge, the Round Church, and other notable landmarks.

The walk conclude back at our starting point.

Suggested equipment /

You can bring whatever combination of cameras and lenses as you wish. Make sure to pack spare memory cards and extra charged batteries to last the entire walk. ND graduated and circular polarising filters are recommended.  During the walk, remember to be vigilant and keep your valuables securely packed away when not in use.

Please check the weather before setting off to the meeting location, ware suitable clothing and a comfortable pair of walking shoes. Even though there will be stops along the way, it is essential to bring snacks and a bottle of water, especially during warm weather.

FAQs

Yes, you will need to purchase a free ticket to attend the photo walk.

To enjoy the full extent of the walk, it is recommended to bring your camera equipment.

The minimum age to attend the walk is 18.

The area is largely flat or at least has ramps/level access but it is a busy city on a working day so be prepared for crowds, noise and traffic. You are responsible for your own safety while in public.
