ABOUT

The Red Squirrel Photography Workshop in Hawes, North Yorkshire, allows photographers to capture both static and action shots of red squirrels in one session. From moss-covered tree stumps and fallen logs to attractive pine trees and lichen-covered dry stone walls, the workshop provides the opportunity to create a varied portfolio of red squirrel images.

SIGMA Ambassador Paul Fowlie will be on hand to mentor you whilst taking images of these elusive animals.

Using various locations in a private, openly planted woodland, participants can move around the trees, walls, and attractive perches to make the best use of the light and obtain standout images.

Suggested equipment

For taking images of the Red Squirrels, we recommend bringing a telephoto lens such as a 70-200mm, 100-400mm or 150-600mm. For closer shots a short telephoto zoom such as an 24-70mm is recommended. Paul will be on hand with a selection of SIGMA lenses on the day. Lenses and available mounts will vary.
