The ultimate twin-lens combo for mirrorless systems /

These two full-frame professional quality zooms are the perfect combination for landscape photographers. Not only do they offer a continuous focal range from 16mm through to 70mm, but they deliver exceptional image quality, a constant F2.8 aperture, front filter threads and an extremely compact and lightweight design. So whether you like to shoot ultra-wide vistas with a strong foreground, or prefer telephoto compositions with a more compressed perspective, this twin-lens kit, available for L-Mount and Sony E-mount, has you covered. Included with the kit is a SIGMA WR Protector filter for each lens, which will help keep the front elements safe from damage. This is particularly important for outdoor shooting. SIGMA filters are made from the very highest quality glass with no colour cast, ensuring that the quality of the image remains extremely high, and the WR coating protects from scratches, oil and water.

Please note that the kit box illustration above is for illustrative purposes only. The components will be shipping in their original lens boxes.

Exceptional portability /

The lenses together weigh in at less than 1kg, so they’re effortless to carry around. The outer barrel is constructed from a strong and light polymer called TSC, which has a similar thermal expansion rate to the interior aluminium parts, ensuring a very consistent performance in all conditions. The lenses are beautifully built with a premium finish, and both have ultra-light but extremely strong petal-type lens hoods to control flare and ghosting. Both lenses have dust- and splash-resistant seals around the mount, and water- and oil-repellant coatings on the front element to keep the glass clear of contaminants.

At the point of release the 28-70mm was smallest and lightest standard zoom with a constant F2.8 aperture on the market for full-frame mirrorless cameras.

ULTRA-WIDE-ANGLE EXCELLENCE

16-28mm F2.8 DG DN | Contemporary /

Sigma’s award winning 16-28mm F2.8 picked up ‘Wide Angle Zoom of the Year’ at the AP Awards 2023, and ‘Best Wide Angle Zoom Lens’ at the TIPA Awards 2023, so it really is an exceptional tool for landscape photography and other wide-angle applications.

Its high-performance optics delivers exceptional sharpness across the frame with very little in the way of unwanted aberrations. An internal zoom mechanism keeps the overall length of the lens consistent throughout the entire zoom range, so that the lens’ centre of gravity stays fairly constant.

The 16-28mm has a very wide maximum angle-of-view of 107°, which makes it ideal creating a sense of scale in a scene with increased attention on the foreground. A filter thread around the front element makes attaching filters such as NDs, ND grads and poliarisers easy.

True to the core concept of the Contemporary line, these outstanding optics deliver the perfect balance of performance and portability.

THE ULTIMATE IN VERSATILITY

28-70mm F2.8 DG DN | Contemporary /

Combining outstanding optical performance, an F2.8 aperture and a light and compact body, the 28-70mm F2.8 is the ultimate portable standard zoom for mirrorless cameras.

With a similar optical design to the 24-70mm F2.8 DG DN | Art, but significantly smaller and lighter at only 56% of its weight, the lens is ideal for photographers who need a high performance, all-in-one standard zoom that isn’t going to weigh them down.

The 28-70mm has a close focusing distance of just 19cm, giving a maximum magnification ratio of 1:3.3 This makes it possible to shoot macro-style close-ups on location, making this lens an incredible all-rounder.

SIGMA WR Protector filters/

This kit includes a 67mm and a 72mm WR Protector filter to ensure that both lenses are fully protected from damage out in the field. The weather-repellent (WR) coating effectively minimises flare and ghosting and has the ability to repel water and oil that can accumulate on its surface when shooting in challenging environments.

When compared to conventional protection filters, the WR coating provides ten times more resistance to scratches. Its anti-static capabilities help prevent the build up of static electricity that can attract dust and other particles.

Made in Aizu /

All Sigma cameras and lenses are designed, manufactured and assembled at our sole factory at Aizu in Japan. This domestic production model is unusual in today’s industry, with most imaging companies opting to outsource to other countries to reduce costs. But SIGMA believes that keeping virtually all manufacturing, processing and assembly in Aizu is essential for creating innovative, carefully thought-out and impeccably constructed products that meet the high standards demanded by professional photographers and film-makers around the world.

Sigma chose Aizu as its main production base in the early 1970s. Situated at the base of Mount Bandai in the Fukushima Prefecture, about four hours’ drive north of Tokyo, Aizu has an abundance of very clean water from mountain streams, which is essential for grinding and polishing lenses. Sigma’s founder, Michihiro Yamaki, was also drawn to this area for its workforce, who have a reputation for their craftsmanship, work ethic and attention to detail. Mr Yamaki’s son, Kazuto Yamaki, now the owner and CEO of SIGMA Corporation, has the same unwavering commitment to keeping production in Japan.

Today Sigma’s factory is more than 50,000 square feet in size, and packed full of some of the most advanced optical manufacturing technology in existence. So when you buy a Sigma camera or lens you can be sure that virtually every single component part has been manufactured and assembled by SIGMA, in Japan, with the greatest level of care and attention. We hope you enjoy using our products.
