Paul Fowlie /

SIGMA Ambassador
Paul Fowlie is one the UK’s leading wildlife photographers. He is perhaps best known for his work with red squirrels, and owns a reserve in Hawes in North Yorkshire containing a number of hides and a flourishing population of reds.

Originally from South Shields in North East England, Paul has been taking photographs of wildlife from an early age. He was initially chiefly a landscape photographer, largely working around the Lake District and Glencoe, but started capturing images of wildlife in their natural habitat and this has been his passion ever since. Following this passion has allowed Paul to develop a range of fieldcraft skills that has enabled him to photograph a wide range of animals in their natural environment, producing some breathtaking images.

Now living in the Yorkshire Dales Paul spends much of his time running his red squirrel photography hides, but also operates a range of workshops for Little Owls, Badgers, Dippers, Red Grouse and moorland birds here in the UK.

Paul’s also runs mammal and birds of prey workshops abroad, including in Scandinavia, Holland and Svalbard in the Arctic Circle.
