SIGMA Ambassador

Mark is an abstract and contemporary landscape photographer specialising in coastal, botanical and documentary style images. His aim is to create visually striking images, utilising the colours and elements of his subject to capture the energy and atmosphere of the environment around him. The goal: for the viewers of his work to feel the same emotions as he did when he was taking the image. A sense of calm, and tranquillity. Mark has deep routed connection to Cornwall, visiting the Cornish Coast since he was only a month old. Not knowing that it would be the start of a passion for photography later in life.

When Mark started taking up photography as a hobby, he did not know exactly what he wanted to photograph, making him feel like he was in a bit of a limbo state. After browsing social image sharing sites, Mark felt inspired after seeing images taken of the London Underground, of areas that often went overlook and was immediately hooked. Wanting to showcase other locations in the same way, Mark explored London to practice and hone his own unique style.

His dedication to finding his unique style led Mark to become an Associate of The Royal Photographic Society and brought him back to the Cornish Coast with a new outlook. Mark uses a technique called ‘intentional camera movement’ to create a majority of his landscape images. Images created using the technique capture the energy of the environment, with striking colours and unique shapes.

Mark photographic projects can be found on his website, often being featured on his own blog discussing the stories behind each project and providing tips for aspiring photographers. His work has also been featured in both physical and online publications, and has worked closely with SIGMA to present promotional videos and create stunning images for new and upcoming products.
