Sigma 70-210mm f3.5-4.5 APO Macro
Launched 1994

From the Press Release from Sigma distributor CZ Scientific:
“Sigma’s 70-210mm UC APO lens was generally regarded as one of the best zoom lenses available. Indeed in 1994 alone, two leading photographic magazines deemed it worthy of their annual award for optical excellence.
Sigma, never a company to sit on its laurels, have discontinued this lens in favour of an even more exciting 70-210mm F3.5-4.5 APO Macro zoom lens.
Sigma have launched the world’s first APO Macro zoom lens, combining two useful features. The lens gives outstanding optical performance with little distortion and a produces a reproduction ratio of 1:2 in macro mode.
Though this lens crams high-tech, high performance into a truly compact barrel, the price is well within the average enthusiast’s reach at £299.95 for MF, Minolta AF and Nikon AFD, and £329.95 for Canon and Sigma AF.
Sigma are confident the new lens will be just as successful in the award stakes as its predecessor.”
