New SIGMA 65mm T1.5 FF and 65mm T2.5 FF Classic CINE lenses announced!

Two all-new 65mm Cine options for film-makers!

Sigma has announced a new focal length to its growing line-up of Cine lenses, taking its range of fast-aperture, 8K-capable, full-frame primes to 11 lenses. The all-new 65mm is available in two models – a standard model with Sigma’s regular Cine lenses coating, and a Classic model that is recoated for more flare and a softer, lower-contrast look.

The new lenses sit between the 50mm and 85mm primes in the Cine range, and are available in PL-i and Canon EF mounts, making them ideal for tighter angles for interviews, as well as a number of other applications.

The announcement comes with the news that Sigma’s Classic Cine lenses, which were previously only available as a 10-lens kit, are now available to buy individually.

Sigma’s Cine range, which includes 11 primes in standard and Classic versions, as well as three zooms,  have been used in a wide range of high-end productions, including the recent Top Gun: Maverick movie with Tom Cruise, and Will Smith’s Welcome to Earth.

Sigma FF primes have also been used in the recently-produced Netflix original drama series ‘Halston’ starring Ewan McGregor, with the lenses playing ‘a major role in this series, both aesthetically and on a practical level, thanks to the beautiful flare that the lenses’ unique coating produced.’ Cinematographer/DP, William Rexer commented that ‘The flare feels organic and not so modern. They have a nostalgic look and having them in my tool kit makes magic possible.’
