The Sigma Corporation is pleased to announce the latest addition to its growing line of Global Vision Art lenses, the new SIGMA 50mm f/1.4 DG HSM | A. Utilizing know-how and the latest design technology accumulated through past developments, the Sigma 50mm f/1.4 DG HSM | A is a high performance, large diameter lens that has been further developed to satisfy photographers demands for superb image quality. Designed with a focus on sophisticated optical performance and abundant power, it achieves the highest resolution in the focus point and astonishing rendering performance even near the edge of the image. It is perfect for astronomical photography and also creates attractive bokeh in portraits and indoor shooting. Moreover, with a minimum focusing distance of 40cm and a maximum magnification ratio of 1:5.6, there is less variation in aberration at different shooting distances. The lens delivers high rendering performance throughout the entire focusing range. HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor) ensures a silent, high-speed AF function and the lens also boasts a 9 blade rounded diaphragm which creates an attractive round bokeh at large-aperture settings. The Super Multi-Layer Coating reduces flare and ghosting and provides sharp and high contrast images even in backlit conditions. Furthermore, the lens firmware and adjustment parameters such as focus can be updated with the use of the Sigma USB Dock.
