One of this years must see movies, Top Gun: Maverick, was filmed using our awesome FF High Speed Cine Art prime lenses.

The Sigma Cine lenses have been expertly crafted to retain the same high quality optical standards as our Sigma Art range of stills lenses. So when using any of Art series optics, you are experiencing cinema quality performance.

The main cinematography unit used (among other lenses): Sigma Primes (6K FF) — 14, 20, 24, 28, 35, 40, 50, 85, 105, 135. These lenses are designed with the same outer shell and a 95mm front diameter. This means that when one of our lenses needs to be swapped out for another, the same rigging can be used and any filters used can be placed back effortlessly
Still lenses typically use F-stops to indicate the aperture. On cinema lenses they use T-stops. The main difference being that the maximum light coming through the lenses is calculated at the rear optic, instead of the front, allowing a pinpoint representation of the final aperture. So even though the numbers look different, the amount of light travelling though the whole Art still and Cine range remain the same.

So the next time you are looking to film cinema quality video, look no further than Sigma Art and Sigma Cine series lenses!
