In live view on the P or A mode, the fp is designed to detect flickering automatically and adjust the shutter speed and exposure timing to minimize its effect on the image.

In the S or M mode, however, a shutter speed of the user’s choice is used, and flickering shadows may appear depending on the shutter speed used.

Likewise, the flicker reduction does not work when the camera is set to continuous shooting, such EIS (Electronic Image Stabilization) or HDR.
